One Republic at Pacific Amphitheatre July 12th (I have bragging rights)

Yes, One Republic, the talented and newer phenom band that’s been playing all over the globe this year and last is coming to the Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa this Saturday, July 12, 2008 (after playing live at the Good Morning America Concert Series in New York on Friday, July 11th from 7:00am-9:00am).   Their original hit song, “Apologize” is still heard everywhere (I heard it as bumper music in Baja Fresh on PCH in Corona Del Mar recently, and it was used as the closing song for a “Cold Case” TV show two weeks ago).

So why do I say I have bragging rights?  Because we’ve known the very talented musician Brent* – the cellist + guitar player + bass player + what-other-stringed-instrument-can-you-think-of-that-he-can’t-play? - for a very long time and we’re so proud of him.  So how long is knowing someone for a  very long time?  Well, since the first day he was born (really!).  In fact, our son is married to Brent’s sister who is also very musically talented.  And, truth be told, the whole family is very musically talented!  (*Brent’s the good looking one on the left.)

If you’re lucky enough to have tickets to this Saturday’s One Republic Concert at the Pacific Amphitheater, we’ll look for you and say, “Hi!”  If not, click the link below and enjoy eleven of their songs from a recent One Republic concert.  And you know they have to be good when Timbaland produces One Republic!  Kudos to you guys!

OMG-were these guys good! We were ALL singing along and the sound was too-too. (The opening band was….um….) Loved it when they played the kicky song with just the keyboard and the cello. What a classy sound. Talented talented. Loved it.

They got a standing “O” and had to come back and play two more sets. Could have listened to them for a lot longer.
